Sighhh!!

Finally I've finished from the longest working hours of my life, although there's a chance I might get cornered like this again at the end of next semester but the hell with it I don't want to be bothered, I have this short holiday to enjoy.

Someone asked "But you're a teacher, how come you're working +12 hours?". Well, I was assigned to two different jobs regarding high-school first semester exams.

Here's my routine for the past 10 days...

  • 05:30AM-07:30AM: *Classified!*

  • 07:30AM-09:00AM: The first few days it was a free period then it got loaded with *Classified!!* work.

  • 09:00AM-05:00PM: Exams Control.

  • 05:00PM-08:00PM: *Classified!!!*

  • 08:00PM-11:00PM: *Classified!!!!*

I cannot disclose anything about the "Classified" work but know that we've become labors for the Ministry of Education since they cannot assign none-kuwaitis. That incorporates transportation, weight lifting, mathematical processing, and there's no place for mistakes!

All that and I only had four and a half hours of sleep each day.

*sigh* It's so good to be back to my normal life. *goes to sleep*

Flash Highly Doubted for iPhone

iPhone owners were anticipating a release of Flash Player for the iPhone since it was first introduced a few years ago. Nowadays the highest portion of internet websites have Flash included in some form but with this news iPhone owners won't be satisfied for sure.

According to a lot of sites Adobe Flash Player won't make to the iPhone because it simply voids Apple iPhone SDK (Software Development Kit) Terms of Service agreement...

"An Application may not itself install or launch other executable code by any means, including without limitation through the use of a plug-in architecture, calling other frameworks, other APIs or otherwise"

"No interpreted code may be downloaded and used in an Application except for code that is interpreted and run by Apple's Published APIs and built-in interpreter(s)."

Apple loves to be in control of their products and allowing Flash, or even Java for that matter, will crack Apple's dominance on the App market by making the iPhone capable of running outsourced Apps hence they won't allow it.

Adobe has also shown reluctance about Flash for iPhone. They said trimming up Flash for the iPhone to reproduce "Flash Lite" version simply won't cut it and it will lack a lot of features. It's all up to Apple in the end.

ALIPR | Automatic Photo Tagging

Out of curiosity I went browsing for an answer on how color pickers can retrieve color related pictures, which I guess depends on photographic histograms, I stumbled upon ALIPR (Automatic Linguistic Indexing of Pictures in Real-Time), the NOT so smart photo tagging/search engine.

It is supposed to be a smart photo search engine that knows exactly what you're looking for.

According to Gizmodo.com:

"An amazing innovation in the software world today: ALIPR (Automatic Linguistic Indexing of Pictures) is a program that takes a look at digital images, applies some fancy math and then spits out a list of appropriate tags for the picture. It isn't perfect, but the designers claim it has a 98 percent accuracy rate. They've been letting it dig through Flickr and the software has matched at least one user-defined tag almost every time." – Karson Thompson

The truth is, it's Far from smart. Even the messed up Ask.com returns better results than this crazy search engine. The only query that got me related results were "landscape historical desert", it returned two pictures of the Pyramids.

Note to self: Stick to Google, shut up and forget how experimental apps such as that color picker work.

2009

I have never had new year resolutions but this year I have one, and it's "Keep on without Shesha". Yes, I didn't mention this before but I have managed to quit shesha two months ago even without another Operation Rehab and now I am determined to keep it this way.

Now I'll leave you with some random pics before deleting them from my hard drive...

Busted: M.O.I. cameras spying on Messila houses.

الطبعانة"Al-Tab'ana" (الطبعانة) - "The Sunk"
Very well known fishing spot in Kuwait. Beautiful scenery.

Donate your "Old Eyeglasses"... Not your Money!

*no comment*! xD

Happy New Year to you all.
