Euro Trip - Part 2 | Road Trip & Bospop Concert

Iran they said... HAH! xD

Location: Munich, Germany.
Destination: Leende, Netherlands.
Goal: Bospop Festival. Weert, Netherlands.

We rented an Audi A4 TDI for the road trip but I got a call telling me the Audi cannot be confirmed therefore I might get a GM Astra instead. We thought either ways it's all good and off we went to Europcar Munich to collect the car. I signed the papers, grabbed the keys, and went to their basement. I pressed on the remote but none of the GM/Opel cars opened. Turned out the *censored* gave us a Hyundai Tucson! And the navigation system is a joke. Nothing we did could change the car and our adventurous side told us to go ahead and take this adventure.

We hit the road at approx. 12pm heading to Leende. The trip was estimated to be 5 and a half hours though we took the long way passing through Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, and reached our destination around 9:30pm. We stayed in Golden Tulip Jagershorst. Four-star hotels at their best, with bathroom separated from the beds by glass only, this hotel is perfect for honeymooners and not for us. It was great nevertheless.

The next day we showed up at Bospop Festival. Having bought day tickets we went there at 1pm to find out Santana was the last to play at 10pm so we enjoyed some of the other bands then we went out for lunch, and I wish we never did because they didn't allow me to bring my camera in, I told them I was inside with my camera a few minutes ago and no one said a thing but they refused claiming they didn't see me go in otherwise they would have taken it from me. B@stards! Santana was amazing. I managed to take some crappy quality videos with my cellphone and I'll upload them once I check if they're worthy.

DJ Uruj | RKFM 99.7

Today at around 7:45pm I was listening to RKFM 99.7 when DJ Uruj came up mentioning that there were talks about her on the internet and after little search I found out the related topic on 248am. [link]

She sounded frustrated but willing to accept criticism. She said she wants our reviews on her, her show, and how we think she can improve directly on her e-mailbox. I was going to review her long ago but somehow it dropped off my mind though after what I heard today I think it's fair to give her a chance knowing that she's willing to improve.

Unfortunately I have missed to get her email so I'm gonna shoot them right here...

• Try to reduce the pitch of your voice. It's like the highest octave on earth.
  
• Your show broadcasts live and so you should. Sometimes I think to myself "Is she suffering from parasomnia?"
  
• Be modest, neither too perky nor dreary. If you want to add humor do so only if you're sure you're gonna make your listeners chuckle at least.
  
• Music variety. You do have a variable taste in music, which is good, but some songs can never match. Try to have a smoother playlist.

That's all I can think of right now. I really think it takes courage to face this and so I endorse her will to become better, hoping one day the ol' Super Station comes back to life.

UPDATE Jan 8, 2008: Tonight she's gonna do a special coverage about this during her show between 7-9pm. Make sure to tune in guys.

The good point is, bloggers mentioning her everywhere brought her to fame and she probably will get RKFM to host the largest average of listeners in their whole broadcasting history! Way to go Uruj!! :D

Blackbird | Alter Bridge

Alter Bridge (formerly known as Creed) have finally launched their new album. First impression is disappointment, but after listening carefully to the whole album I can admit as a rock/alternative fan, this band has matured.

Review: There's one thing I hate in Rock music... excessive/overworked guitar. However, unlike other rock bands, Alter Bridge manage to catch me with their tones, beats, and best of all their outstanding vocalist (Myles Kennedy).

They've gone past Creed's flavor and added their own special touch to this album marking their standout from Creed itself although they're still the same band but with another lead singer.

My only disappointment is not seeing any acoustics in this album, something like In Loving Memory on their older album, it would have made this one much better.

All in all, this album gets no more than 7.5 out of 10.

There are three vocalists I would listen to anything by them, Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, Aaron Lewis of Staind, and Myles Kennedy.

Operation Rehabilitation | Week 2+

Week 2 of Operation Rehabilitation was irritating not because I haven't had my weekly doze of shishas, but because I was sick in bed for three days.

I don't get sick often but when I do I get knocked down for good. I had no sense of time, no sense of place, and no mental stability during the past hectic days of illness. I have watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose which consequently made me see and feel crazy stuff with my weak state of mind during sickness.

I have also watched Lord of War, Collateral, Apocalypto, Lucky Number Sleven, Saw III, Crash, American History X, Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy, and went to see Bourne Ultimatum at the cinema yesterday to move my numb body. (Was about to review all three of them but cece beat me to it.) *MCA MCA MCA!!!*

Anyways, back to my shisha addiction and Operation Rehab... 4 shishas in one week. Isn't that something or what? From 15 last week to 4 this week, I think I will manage to keep the counter blank starting this week. One thing's for sure, I will not exceed the amount of last week's shishas.

Yet again, wish me luck.
