Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for using our SHOP&SHIP service. Our aim is to continuously enhance your shopping experience with us.

Aramex has found it necessary to increase the SHOP&SHIP rates to offset the increase in fuel price and operating costs. Effective July 1st 2008, our new rates will be as follows:

First ½ kg K.D. 3.000
Each additional ½ kg K.D. 2.500

We appreciate your understanding as this situation is completely outside the scope of our direct control since fuel represents a significant variable cost in the provision of transportation services.

We want to assure you that our most important objective is to continue providing you with quality transportation services that meet your needs effectively. Our customer service teams are ready to answer any query you may have concerning the rate increase or any of our services.

Anyone got any better options than this shop&sh!t service?

Hmm, the prices became less here since I think April! Well, it seemed that the swiss didn't use that service and that is why they had to decrease it..

Why don't you all boycott them for a while and see what happens.. they KNOW you need them that is why they are increasing!

So let me get this straight. If oil price goes down, they will decrease their prices? Hell you can count on that!

Even though their argument could make sense, what doesn't make sense is when their expenses go down, their pricing never go down. Has Aramex shipping rates ever went down before when oil price was down? The other funny part of the story is the inside. While whole world is complaining from oil increase prices, we, the exporters, should be gaining an advantage and living our best days. Nevertheless, only now I started checking price items in grocery store before buying. It's becoming crazy! Everything is %25 up!

What Aramex should look at, other than (matching) fuel price increase I guess, is how this change will affect their customers shopping decision. I know that huge amount of shopping goes to DVDs and video games. They are light, and cost less outside. Now however, with 3 KD for shipping a DVD, I would think twice and hesitate before buying it. Aramex is alive because items outside are cheaper, and many items are not available for international delivery. Now if you are gradually killing the price benefit, you are shooting your self in the foot. Careful how you plan your business. There are other factors, it's not simple addition.

So how are the competitors? Any good ones?

LLOOLLL! To enhance your shopping experience, we are raising our prices!

We are all screwed. We can't bring in anymore big overstuffed suitcases, the postal system is non-existent or dysfunctional, and these shipping services charge an arm and a leg/
